Priceline Mini Haul

I thought that because it was such a nice day that it would be a good idea to put Evie in the pram and go for a walk. So I walked, and we ended up at the local shops. I keep meaning to get some hand sanitizer for my nappy bag and some child Nurofen, so we popped into the Priceline Pharmacy.

We walked out with a few other things too, that I needed, of course!

  • Maybelline Baby Lips Pink Glow. I don’t really need any more lip products but when I saw this I was suckered in and had to have it.
  • Cutex Crystal Glass Nail File. I have been wanting one for ages and my 2 year old may let me do her nails with this. Fingers crossed.
  • Rexona Women Naturals. The days are getting hotter and while I am breastfeeding I don’t like to use sprays.
  • Dettol Healthy Touch Hand Sanitizer. (what we went in for) To put in the nappy bag for times when there are no taps to wash hands after changes.
  • I did also get the Nurofen for kids too

Cant wait to try the Baby Lips, its supposed to give me my perfect pink glow based on my lip chemistry.

Bad Easter Skin, Be Gone!

Since Easter my skin has been going insane! I have come to the conclusion that it must be all the Easter eggs and hot cross buns that I have consumed over the last month. My poor body is crying out for a little TLC and the last few days that is exactly what it has got.

Along with my usual Clinique cleanser, every couple of days I have been mixing it up and using Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub (I am such a rebel I know). The scrub contains Salicylic Acid, an essential ingredient to get rid of all that disgusting dirt, black heads and oil from your skin. I noticed a difference in my skin after the first time I used the scrub, my skin felt more radiant and healthy so much so that even boyfriend commented (that doesn’t happen everyday). And as an added bonus, Unclogging Scrub is oil free.

I like to use the scrub on dry skin, I find that by doing this the cleanser does not drip off my face with the water. I apply the size of a 20c coin and let it soak in for about a minute then rinse off in warm water. I then apply my usual toner and moisturizer, and walla, nice fresh skin.

We have loved Biore products for ages, you may remember our love for their Deep Cleansing Pore Strips, Check out all their other amazing products on their website.

RRP: $10.99 available from Priceline and chemists.

Clean Detox with Garnier

I always thought that to have good skin you had to buy expensive skin care products. Just like champagne, expensive is always best. Right? Wrong.

For years I used all Clinique products and my skin always looked and felt good (well I thought so anyway) It wasn’t until I had my first baby and wasn’t working full time that I decided that I had to try something else. So each tme one of my Clinique products ran out I went and bought something a little less expensive.

I stumbled upon Garnier, one shopping day, on sale at Priceline, so I thought I would give it a go. I went for the Clean Detox Gentle Exfoliating Scrub and the Refreshing Cleansing Gel.

The Cleansing Gel removes all your makeup and impurities so is perfect to use at the end of the day. I usually use it in the shower before bed so my skin is clean and refreshed .

I love a good exfoliator and this one stacks up. I use it every morning and it keeps my skin smooth and blemish free and removes all those dead skin cells that make your skin look dull. It has tiny exfoliating beads that are gentle on your skin so you can use it every day. Both have extracts of green mint and grape anti-oxidants so they smell good too.

I always follow with a toner and moisturiser. At the moment I am using Simple Soothing Facial Toner, on a cotton pad smoothed all over my face and neck, and follow with the very last of my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion. As you can see they are both nearly empty so I will be able to try something new very soon.

I love  how my skin feels using these products and just proves that you don’t have to spend a lot of money. So why not give them a go? They are around $10 each, bargain.

What skin care do you use for your face?

Pure Fiji Coconut Hydrating Lotion contains a blend of coconut milk and exotic nuts, each working together to hydrate the skin making it feel soft and fresh. Now that’s what we like to hear, all natural products that wont harm our skin and make us look great! I have only used this eye balm a couple of times so far and it seems to be working. The thing about this product is that it does leave a slight amount of excess, that is easily fix though with a quick wipe.  I recommend using the eye cream twice a day to get maximum benefits and fight away those wrinkles. New Palmers – Sneak Peek

We have been big fans of Palmers Cocoa Butter since….I can’t remember, but a long time now. We use it mostly because of the delicious smell but also because it really works. It softens, smooths and relieves dry skin and best of all it helps prevent and reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks. Oh and it is super affordable.

We were recently treated to a sneak peek of a few new products by Palmers, that will be available in March/April. So put it in your diary because you will definitely want to snap these babies up asap!

Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Daily Calming Lotion – I did mention this one in a previous post so now I will let you know a bit more.  I am using this instead of the Palmers Stretchmark Lotion, that I used religiously for my first pregnancy. I have found that the Calming Lotion is just as good, because 6 months in and still no marks of any kind on my belly and my skin is so soft and smooth, bonus!

It contains cocoa butter, soy and oats as well as soothing lavender and chamomile. It absorbs really quickly and provides relief for irritated skin conditions and creates a protective barrier to retain moisture. For this reason I also use it on my feet before bed to keep them soft and summer shoe ready. Perfect for everyone it is hypoallergenic, paraben free and fragrance free.

Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Hydration Gel Lotion – Got sunburn? or is your skin just a bit dry from the summer heat (probably not if you live in Sydney) Well you need this! It is infused with aloe and cucumber for super-fast absorption and an extra hydration boost, perfect! It also has all the good stuff from cocoa butter but is a really light weight gel formula.

Palmers Ccoa Butter SPF 15 – By now you would all know how obsessed we are with sun protection here at The Makeup Case, so you could imagine our delight when we were able to try Palmers new SPF 15. In keeping with all Palmers products, SPF 15 has that signiture Palmers smell that is just delicious. The great thing about this product is that you are mosturizing and protecting your skin at the same time with just one product, so handy! I love to apply the lotion every morning before leaving the house to protect me from the summer sun. Every time I apply the lotion I get a great feeling that I am doing something good for my skin, thats what you want from a product right?

All of these babies will be available March/April 2012 from Priceline, Target, Kmart, Big W, Price Attack, Hairhouse Warehouse, pharmacies and supermarkets. In the mean time you can check out everything else Palmers on their website.

RRP $7.40 for 250ml.

Every Good Swivel Deserves Another..

Cracked, dry lips, is there really anything worse? At this point in time I have to scream with a big fat NO! This weather is literally driving my lips crazy! Sweltering hot, cold, raining, humid, every day seems like a different season and my lips are feeling the confusion. One minute they are all nice and mosturized, with no signs of dryness and the next they are the complete opposite. I needed a good remedy and pronto, enter Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Swivel Stick. My saviour, my night and shining armour if you will.

Palmers Swivel stick is the ultimate double whammy product, a  great lip balm for your dry lips (holla) and also a fantastic moisturizer for other dry areas like your face and arms. It is great for an on-the-spot moisterizer for dry skin and is so compact you can fit it into the most tinniest of handbags. It is so jam packed with Vitamin E that you can notice an istant difference in your lips, they suddenly feel all hydrated and smooth.

I have had my beautiful Swivel Stick for about a year now and I still have so much left, I hope it never runs out! I love to apply the lip balm after I exfoliate my lips with Lush Lip Scrub.

RRP: Around the $4.00 mark for 14g. Available from Priceline and all good pharmacies nationwide.
